So you’re thinking of visiting somewhere fancy for your next dinner date. But you don’t exactly know where to go. All you know is that you’re craving to try something infused with truffles. Whether it’s truffle paste, truffle oil, or truffle all on its own, you want it. It’s that smoky flavour that’s perfectly paired with cheese and any type of carb – pasta, fries, pizza. Mmm, it’s too enticing. If you’re looking for the best must-try truffle dishes in Klang Valley, then you have come to the right place. Glitz has narrowed down the best of the best, so keep on reading!

But Wait, What Are Truffles And Why The Hype?

Those who regularly watch cooking shows or one of my personal favourites, Hell’s Kitchen, would be familiar with what truffle is. Essentially, it is an edible fungus that is used in French and many other high-end cuisines. There are also two popular types of truffles, the black, and the white. The reason they are so expensive is due to the fact that they are hard to find, extremely difficult to grow, and cannot be stored for a long time. However, there are many other variations of truffles that come at a more affordable price tag. There’s truffle paste and truffle oil, which are regularly used in many dishes.

The Best Truffle Dishes In Klang Valley

1. Proof Pizza + Wine – Umbrian Black Truffle Pizza

Truly the best way to cook a pizza is in the traditional wood-fired oven. Well, Proof Pizza + Wine does exactly that! Their sourdough pizzas are cooked to perfection in these wood-fired ovens and topped with imported ingredients. This particular Umbrian Black Truffle Pizza features black truffle paste, mascarpone, mozzarella, and more. You can even opt to add on fresh truffles, depending on the availability. We recommend giving the restaurant a call or message on their social media pages, as they are very responsive!

2. Roberto’s 1020 Osteria – Biancaneve and Montanara

Located in one of the most strategic culinary locations, Roberto’s 1020 Osteria is the perfect place for catch-ups with your friends. Aside from an al-fresco dining area, Roberto’s also serves two delectable truffle pizzas – the Biancaneve and the Montanara. The only difference between the two is that Biancaneve is made from white truffle paste while the Montanara is made from the black one. We personally tried the Montanara and would give it a 10/10. The black truffle paste is generous, while pieces of brie, mushrooms and red raddichio perfectly balances out the familiar smoky flavour.

Plus, the dish makes a lovely addition to your Instastory thanks to the fun interactive cheese pulls. But that’s not all, as its name suggests, Pizza Mansion also serves pizzas. Not a big fan of pizzas, mac and cheese, nor fries? How about a toastie? This unique toastie by Kenny Hills Bakers comes with a side of caramelised onions and uses two of the world’s most famous ingredients. The raclette is a Swiss cheese that’s typically melted straight off the wheel and scraped onto your dish of choice. In this case, the Swiss cheese is sandwiched with black truffle paste, in between two crisp bread baked in-house. It is then spread with butter, pressed, and grilled to perfection.
