Named after herself, the brand embodies the spirit of ‘Ria’, meaning happiness in Malay, perfectly reflecting the designer’s infectious personality.
Recently debuting her collection with Zaloraya 2024, Ria marks her brand’s inaugural entry into the Malaysian market with a bang. As one of the brands featured by Zalora this year, the collection quickly gained traction on the platform, captivating audiences with its fresh, contemporary flair.

Hi Ria, congrats on your collection and welcome to Malaysia! Can you share with us the inspiration behind it?
Thank you so much! I’m delighted to be here in Malaysia with my collection. Let me tell you about it. This collection is all about flowers; you’ll see them on the clothes, bags, and even shoes. I wanted to capture the essence of dreaminess and innocence. The inspiration for this collection came from the dreams of women.
Every woman has her own dreams and desires. Some dream of having a happy family, while others aspire to achieve success in their careers. That’s why I wanted to create designs that reflect the diversity of women’s dreams.
Versatile Collection
Your designs seem very versatile. Can you tell us more about the flexibility of your collection?
Absolutely! I believe that fashion should be inclusive and adaptable. That’s why I’ve created designs that are versatile and can be worn by women of all shapes and sizes.
Whether you’re thin or curvy, my designs don’t discriminate. Take the Arumi top, for example. You can wear it tight at the back or loose at the front. There are no limits, just like women’s dreams. My designs are meant to empower women to express themselves freely.
An Ode To All Strong Women Out There
Following up on answers, take the Arumi top for example – we notice the design features unique kimono sleeves. What inspired you to incorporate them into your collection?
As you can see from this design, we’ve incorporated kimono sleeves. This was inspired by the strength and grace of Japanese women, particularly the Geisha, who are known for their poise and delicacy.
At the same time, I drew inspiration from the strong women of Indonesia, particularly the Javanese, who often wear kebaya. Each country has its own inspiring women who excel in various fields, and they motivated me to create this design.
Hence, the collection name ‘Bubble Bloom’, I imagine through this collection, I visualise all (women) blooming and striving towards our dream, in our own way.
We noticed during the showcase that the accessories paired with your outfits are stunning. Where can we find them, especially since they’re not available on Zalora?
For the accessories paired with the outfits, we’re glad you noticed how well they complement each other! You won’t find them on Zalora, but you can purchase them through our Instagram page @bagsi.id.
We’re considering bringing them to Zalora in our next partnership. Additionally, the socks you see are also from our brand. We have a family of brands, including @temalisandas , @kepompong.kupukupu, and bagsi.wear, which are all interconnected and considered part of our brand family.

What are your sentiments regarding the release of your collection, and do you have any messages for your fans in Malaysia?
I feel incredibly humbled and grateful to all Malaysians and our fans. Your support and presence at our show mean the world to us. If you loved the collection, thank you for sharing your appreciation with us. It truly warms our hearts.
This marks our first venture into the Malaysian market through the Zalora platform, and we’re thrilled about it. We’ve put our hearts into creating these designs, and we sincerely hope that you’ll enjoy them as much as we’ve enjoyed bringing them to life.
