Real review:

“The food we had here was beyond excellent.

The pork knuckle was absolute perfection, crispy exterior yet beautifully cooked on the inside. The ribs were also really tasty. I’m still thinking about these two items from my last visit a few weeks ago – that’s how good it was.

And on top of that – the platter was also value for money. Five stars, well deserved. Will definitely come back for more!”

We’d be surprised if you haven’t heard of this one before! Der Backmeister is a popular German bakery, with locations in TTDI and Ampang. One of the few halal German restaurants, Der Backmeister serves up amazing artisan bread and pastries, baked fresh daily. Just walk past the place, and you’ll be absolutely enticed by the aroma wafting through. Just to name a few of our favourites, we highly recommend their apple strudel, zimtschnecke AKA cinnamon roll, and you cannot leave without grabbing a loaf of their freshly baked bread, perhaps their Bavarian spelt bread or tea bread.

They also have a full dine-in menu, with dishes that feature their incredible baked goods. Try out their all-day breakfast dishes, or some German specialties, like their German Street Burger, Goulash soup that comes with bread that’s straight out of the oven, and of course, you must try bratwurst.

Reasons to visit: hearty European breads in a huge range of varieties, all made from scratch with no sugar or chemicals; welcoming casual atmosphere; enormous sandwiches; don’t miss the apple strudel or marzipan choc for dessert.”
