Based on Worrying Statistics
This new launch is in response to the main frustrations experienced by runners. Throughout January 2024, adidas conducted a recent study that encompassed 2,674 runners from 11 major cities. They found that the number one obstacle people face when running is discomfort caused by ill-fitting shoes, agreed upon by 47% of respondents. Due to this, nearly a quarter (23%) have opted out of running altogether. What a crying shame, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that these new comfortable adidas launches will rapidly bring those numbers down.
SUPERNOVA RISE, STRIDE, and SOLUTION
Joining the award-winning SUPERNOVA RISE are the SUPERNOVA SOLUTION and SUPERNOVA STRIDE. Each of these three silhouettes contains adidas’ revamped super foam, Dreamstrike+, for unmatched levels of comfort and cushioning. Here are the other comfortable features found within this striking trio:
- SUPPORT RODS: Each Rise model incorporates a network of dense bottom-loaded foam within its sole, providing consistent neutral support from heel to toe. This promotes seamless transitions, facilitating smooth and effortless runs.
- COMFORT HEEL FIT: Utilising a blend of softly supportive cushioned foam and gentle textile materials around the heel area, the design ensures a snug and comfortable fit while providing ample support.
- EVA CARRIER: Enhancing the forefoot cushioning, a specialised carrier EVA works in tandem to guarantee runners experience both dynamic and supportive transitions.
- ADIWEAR OUTSOLE: Crafted from resilient rubber, the innovative outsole delivers superior traction. To further enhance grip, adidas has strategically incorporated cutouts in key areas where runners need traction the most.
Celebrating SUPERNOVA
adidas Malaysia recently hosted a series of events to celebrate the launch of the new Supernova shoes. Kicking off with the Supernova Virtual Simulator, this event was held at the adidas Brand Center Sunway Pyramid and adidas Queensbay Mall in Penang. Participants experienced a running simulation while donning the new Supernova. Those who completed a two-minute run at the simulation zones between February 29th and March 10th were rewarded with complimentary shoelaces.
Furthermore, we were invited to adidas’ Supernova Run in collaboration with adidas Runners Kuala Lumpur (ARKL) on the 9th of March at Sentul Depot. These lucky runners got the chance to experience firsthand the comfort of running with the brand new Supernova shoes and we were there to witness their awe regarding the lack of discomfort. Mission accomplished!
