This multidimensional bookstore and speakeasy, which specialises in distinctive speciality cocktails, is bound to make waves in the local cocktail scene. Guests may expect the unexpected the moment they walk in, which is ideally located in the centre of Taman Tun Dr Ismail. Behind the concealed door, you’ll find a world of richness and sophistication, as well as artisan cocktails inspired by bar classics, local pleasures, and pop culture references. Getting To Know The First Chapter
The First Chapter Speakeasy serves up a variety of outstanding artisan drinks made with only the finest ingredients. “We’re excited about experimenting with diverse flavour profiles to offer unique experiences for our customers,” said Ben Nair, the Bar Manager. “For example, our Signature Rose and Chrysanthemum Gins are infused in-house and have distinct floral flavours.”
Guests start their night by locating a secret door. Once inside, the finer details of an industrial meet contemporary interior catch your eye. Cultivating the right atmosphere was of utmost importance to the team during the ideation phase. “We wanted to create a space where the smallest details made the biggest difference. Every aspect, from the cocktails to the interior design, was carefully chosen to provide the best experience for our patrons” said Operations Manager, Shawn Luke.
In addition to the great cocktails and opulent surroundings, guests can choose from an array of appetisers made in-house.

Shawn Luke, Founder & Operations Manager
Shawn, a barista turned bartender, realised his passion for the food and beverage industry early in his career. He has considerable managerial expertise and an unrivalled repertory in the KL nightlife scene, having previously managed some of KL’s trendiest bars such as Circa Bar.
Ben Nair, Founder & Bar Manager
Ben is no stranger to the local bartending scene, working as a financial contract manager by day and a bartender at night. His training at Omakase + Appreciate, one of KL’s best bars, sparked his interest in cocktail production, and the rest is history. Ben runs a tight ship behind the bar, with each cocktail requiring rigorous research and testing before it is served.
