We all know and love Sunway Lagoon, but when’s the last time you went? In case you didn’t know, Sunway Lagoon is more than just a theme park; there are five main areas, including a Water Park, a Scream Park, and a Wildlife Park. Plus, haven’t you ever wondered what a theme park looks like once it’s closed for the night? Well, wonder no more as you can now go glamping at their Camp Out! area, and stay overnight at Sunway Lagoon! What a childhood dream come true.
Sunway Lagoon is a fun-for-the-whole-family type of theme park, and they have over 90 attractions spread out across 88 acres. Trust us, you’ll want to strategically plan out your day to maximise your fun with friends and family. And don’t worry if you get hungry, there are tons of restaurants and dining options for you to fuel up and get that energy going.
Personally, this was my first time ever at Sunway Lagoon (apart from going to the Nights of Fright), and I was so impressed at how many things to do and see there were. I thought there were just a few rollercoasters and maybe some water rides, but there’s so much to explore. After all, there’s 88 acres of pure fun! Best believe I’m already planning my next trip to Sunway Lagoon with my friends.
Camp Out! at Sunway Lagoon

Sunway Lagoon’s latest attraction, Camp Out, is right smack dab in the heart of Sunway Lagoon. Toast marshmallows, sing campfire songs, and just hang out all night with your friends and family under the stars. You’ll also be treated to a BBQ dinner, and even have access to your own private pools. The best part about this is that you can enjoy the entirety of Sunway Lagoon, all on your own time, and just come back to your tent whenever you want to just recharge and chill out.

Lagoon Villa

There are four beautiful villas in total, each with an incredible view of the World’s Largest Surf Pool right from your personal deck. Amusement Park
Trust us, the Amusement Park at Sunway Lagoon is seriously fun. There are tons of things to do at this park, including thrilling rides and Malaysia’s Longest Pedestrian Suspension Bridge. It’s great for the whole family, as there are rides just for the little ones, and rides for brave thrill-seekers.
My personal favourite is the Pirate’s Revenge, a 360-degree rotating pirate ship that’s bound to turn your stomach upside down – in the best way! You can’t miss out on the Lost City of Gold Scream Coaster either; screaming is optional but highly recommended.
There’s also daily performances and parades to watch if the kids are tired from the rides, and you can even meet Sunway Lagoon’s ambassadors, Captain Quack and Lady Quack! Check out the schedule here for the full list of performances for you to be entertained all day long.
Water Park
One of Malaysia’s best and most well-known water parks, this is where you can find the world famous Vuvuzela, AKA the world’s largest vortex ride! Get launched from 11-storeys above ground, be plunged into swirling water, and brace yourself against the currents. It’s a thrill that you absolutely cannot miss.
There are tons of other water rides at the Water Park, including the African Pythons, the Congo Challenge, and the heart-pounding Cameroon Climb where you’ll be dropped from 15 metres and shot back up 8 metres. Intense? Absolutely? Incredibly fun? Undoubtedly.
The Water Park at Sunway Lagoon also offers Waterplexx 5D, an experiential cinematic experience like no other. Let the movie come alive as you feel the wind, fog, mist, sprays, fountains, water jets, light, lasers, 3D visuals, sound, and movement.
Another one of Sunway Lagoon’s pride and glory: the Surf Beach! It’s the world’s largest surf pool, and it’s a manmade sight to behold. Feel real sand under your feet, go surfing or bodyboarding, or just splash around in the cool waters. It’s over 13,000 square metres of pure beach paradise, and you won’t even have to leave the city for some fun in the sun! At 4.30pm everyday, get ready as the Surf Beach churns out amazing waves, with a maximum height of eight-feet! Whether you’re a surfer or a beach bum, the Surf Beach is perfect for the whole family.
Both kids will also have a splashing great time at Little Zimbabwe, an interactive water playground made to look like an African village, complete with huts and Masai warriors guarding the entrance. Splash about, or let yourself get drenched by buckets of water!
Wildlife Park
Did you know that Sunway Lagoon has their own zoo? I certainly didn’t, and as an animal lover, it was an amazing surprise. With over 150 species of animals from around the world, Sunway Lagoon’s Wildlife Park is truly a sight to behold. There are birds, reptiles, and terrapins galore, and you can even get up close and personal with goats, bunnies, and guinea pigs at the Pet Village!
Walk through the Tree Top Terrace and Bird Savannah, where you can look at tons of species and even walk side by side with ducks and other birds, or explore various habitats at the newest snake area and New World Monkey.
Sunway Lagoon is also home to two gorgeous white lions, Zola and Zuri, as well as a majestic lion. There are also meerkats, prairie dogs, miniature horses, otters, sun bears, panthers, tigers, eagles, hornbills, peacocks, pythons, and more, so get your Steve Irwin on and say hello to all kinds of animals!
X Park
Thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies, X Park is just the place for you. Steer Go Karts or go wild on ATVs, fly through the air on Malaysia’s longest Flying Fox, let your heart pound as you Bungee Jump, or slingshot yourself on Asia’s highest slingshot ride on the G-Force X! If you need to take a break from the heart-pounding adventures, why not go kayaking, paintball shooting, or hit some targets at archery?
Scream Park
Horror junkies, brace yourself as your worst nightmares come to life at Sunway Lagoon’s Scream Park. Walk through Lynton V Harris’ Scream Park, and come face to face with evil itself. With both Asian-inspired theatrics and classic villains like Freddie Kreuger, Ghostface, and Michael Myers, this is Sunway Lagoon’s most bone-chilling experience yet.
If it wasn’t clear, Sunway Lagoon is definitely a big splash. There’s just so many fun things to do, and there’s something for everyone!
