REXPERIENCE (RXP.KL), an immersive digital art gallery, is set to open its doors on September 20th in the former cinema hall of REXKL.
Launching its inaugural multi-artist exhibition, titled “Other World,” visitors will have the opportunity to embark on an immersive journey through cosmic, natural, urban, and abstract dimensions, offering a transcendent experience into creative universes.
“At REXPERIENCE, we’re redefining what an art gallery can be—it’s a chance to step into a world where technology and creativity meet in amazing ways. Our vision is to create exhibitions that spark discovery and inspiration amongst art lovers, young innovators, and travellers in search of genuine creative, cultural and shared experiences,” said Sébastien Jurkowski, CEO and Creative Director of RXP.KL.
“REXPERIENCE is transformative space that reimagines the legacy of REX Cinema. By adding an immersive art experience, we’re not just preserving history, we’re writing REXKL’s future. This collaboration between co-founders Eugene Yeo and Sébastien Jurkowski will allow us to blend multidisciplinary art form and technology to create a new kind of entertainment and artistic expression,” said Shin Chang, architect and Co-Founder of REXKL.
The one-hour exhibition features three main immersive and thought-provoking interludes. The REXPERIENCE exhibit includes “Annihilation” by Colas Fiszman and Jonas Margraf, which provides an insightful narrative about innovation and its consequences, offering a striking glimpse into humanity’s nuanced connection with technology.
Foreign Nature” by Julius Horsthuis and Ben Lukas Boysen reflects the hidden geometry of nature, while “Yume” by Fahmi Hosnan and Ashish Khilnani highlights the fusion of history and technology through projection and motion. Moreover, the intermittent interlude artworks between these displays provide moments for visitors to contemplate for the ultimate immersive experience.
