American Horror Story (AHS) is by far one of the most classic horror films on Netflix Malaysia to watch. The first season was a huge hit and despite Tate Langdon being the ultimate villain, everyone seemed to love him the most. Since then, AHS has released a total of 10 seasons, each with its own theme. However, not all seasons are available on Netflix, only season 7, Cult. But we assure you that there will be enough scares to get you on your feet, plus an exciting plot.

2. Annabelle Comes Home

The Conjuring was a horror film that introduced many spiritual characters to the world. And ever since then, each of these characters has been getting their own films. One of the creepiest horror films on Netflix Malaysia has got to be Annabelle Comes Home. This film tells the story of a possessed doll who haunts families in their homes. This particular film sees the daughter of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a babysitter, and the babysitter friends who go through an eventful night. The night is neverending with attacks from many spirits who were released from their slumber because of Annabelle. But will they manage to put the doll back into her glass case? Watch to find out.

3. The Nun

Another appearance from The Conjuring film is Valak, a demon nun. In this horror film that you can find on Netflix Malaysia, it talks about a trio, Irene, Burke, and Frenchie. Throughout the film, this trio tries to stop Valak from possessing and attacking them as they figure out how to keep him at bay. At the end of the film, just as they thought they had cracked the code, Valak possesses Frenchie, which can be seen via the inverted cross on his neck.

4. Orphan

Orphan is one of the few classic psychological horror films you can find in the movie industry. It talks about Esther, an orphan that a couple adopts after having a stillbirth. But Esther turns out to be an adult woman who actually suffers from a rare form of dwarfism. This means she had been posing as a child throughout her life. She has attempted murder seven times, including the family who previously adopted her. In this film, she tries to murder the entire family in order to get with the father. But she fails to seduce the father and ends up murdering him too.

5. Insidious

Directed by James Wan, Insidious is an American-Canadian supernatural horror film. If you’re intrigued by disturbing looks and scenes of spirits then this film might just suit you! There are three different editions of Insidious but the ones available on Netflix Malaysia are Insidious 2 and 3. Each film features different types of demons and unlike The Conjuring, it’s not just about jump scares. Insidious carries an interesting plot and ending which gets you thinking. But only if you’re brave enough to finish the film.

6. There’s Someone Inside Your House

Okay, so maybe scary films with depictions of demons and ghosts are not for you. How about a thriller instead? There’s Someone Inside Your House is a film about a killer who hunts down students. The killer first exposes the victim’s darkest secrets to the entire town. The killer then terrorises these victims while wearing a life-like mask of their own face. The film follows Makani Young and her friends who tries to find out who this killer is before they become victims themselves.

7. Bird Box

Remember when everyone was talking about Bird Box and how the characters were not allowed to take off their blindfolds? Well, this film is making it into our list of top horror films to watch on Netflix Malaysia. The film is set in a post-apocalyptic world and follows Malorie Hayes and her two children. Throughout the film, Malorie and the two children are running away from unknown entities who will try to kill them if they release their blindfolds. Will they make it out of this messed up world alive?

8. MA

Here’s another horror film on Netflix Malaysia that does not include depictions of demons and spirits. MA is one of the creepiest psychological horror films on Netflix Malaysia that talks about Sue Ann, also known as ‘Ma’ who tries to lure a group of teenagers to spend time with her. But something weird always happens when they do. It turns out that Sue Ann has a past with all of these children’s parents and tries to kill them all. We’ll leave the ending for you to find out, but one thing we can say about this film, is that it’s pretty messed up – so be warned.

9. Mirrors

We would have to give a warning before you attempt to watch this film, because it may just change how you look at yourself in the mirror. Mirrors is one of the few supernatural horror films on Netflix Malaysia that will surely disturb you. It talks about how demons kill people who stand in front of the mirror. Then they suck their souls into the other side of the mirror and leave them stuck there. But the scary part is how every person dies. Take this scene for example, the mirror’s reflection of Angie grips its jaw and slowly pulls her mouth apart, ripping it in half. By then, the actual person would have mimicked the reflection’s actions.

10. The Curse Of La Llorona

If you’re leaning more towards supernatural horror films on Netflix Malaysia then this is the best one for you. You may also know this film as The Curse of the Weeping Woman, which is an alternate version of The Curse Of La Llorona. It is also the sixth installment of The Conjuring Universe series, which means there will most definitely be some crazy scares! The film talks about the spirit of a woman who attacks families, particularly targeting children, and tries to drown them. This horror film is sure to creep you out and maybe even haunt you for a while. But it definitely makes a great movie to watch with a group of friends.
