FENTY x PUMA has unveiled its latest footwear collection, the Avanti, marking their most recent collaboration after a five-year hiatus.
The Avanti offers a fashionable twist on the football trend, featuring exquisite buttery soft vintage leather, a fold-over tongue, and a debossed and printed gold-foil FENTY and PUMA CAT logo.
These distinctive features of the Avanti pay homage to PUMA’s rich football tradition and history. The footwear collection represents an unorthodox fusion of two PUMA icons: the premium leather style of the King football boot and the outsole design of the Easy Rider running shoe.
“I wanted to bring something iconic from the archives to the street, and the late great Pelé made the Avanti shoe so iconic,” said Rihanna.
“It’s been such an exciting start to our partnership,” said Maria Valdes, Chief Product Officer at PUMA. “We spent time together opening up the PUMA archive and identifying the right product that spoke to Rihanna. The Avanti is a PUMA classic with a unique and iconic point of view on the terrace. I’m very happy to see this project come to life and even more excited for what the coming years have in store for us together.”
The Avanti by FENTY x PUMA expands the footwear collection to cater to the entire family. Thanks to Rihanna’s reinterpretation, it is also available as a unisex shoe for both adults and children.
This collaboration marks Rihanna’s return as the Creative Director of FENTY x PUMA and includes several upcoming product launches in the pipeline.
The FENTY x PUMA Avanti will be available worldwide on puma.com and select retailers starting on September 15, 2023, at 10 am EST, with a second Avanti drop scheduled for later this fall.
