The skate park at National Stadium Bukit Jalil is one of the most popular amongst skateboarders as it is easily accessible through public transportation. To get there, all you have to do is ride the LRT and get off at the Bukit Jalil station. From there, the skate park is impossible to miss, flanked by a playground and the stadium. The National Stadium Bukit Jalil Skate Park is perfect for beginners as it has two wide compounds where you can practise cruising before moving on to the many banks and ledges at the park.

2. Shah Alam Extreme Park
Don’t let the name scare you, Shah Alam Extreme Park is suitable for everyone, no matter their level of expertise. Located close to Shah Alam Stadium, this skatepark is equipped with every facility you can think of, including fast food restaurants, rock climbing, BMX, futsal, paintball, and even showers. The skateboarding compound is wide and features every common skateboard obstacle, including several bowls and pools of different shapes and sizes.

3. Putrajaya Challenge Park
Spanning almost 30 hectares, the Putrajaya Challenge Park is one of the biggest skateparks in Malaysia. This skating facility is suitable for more experienced skaters as it consists of mainly bowls and banks, designed and built by former pro skater Tim Altic. Once you’ve mastered the basics of skateboarding, head to this park in Putrajaya and practise nailing a hollow drop. You can also utilise the wide open areas at Putrajaya Challenge Park for flat-ground tricks.

6. Sungai Kantan Youth Park
Originally known as Satay Skatepark, Sungai Kantan Youth Park has since rebranded and was renamed after the local council in Kajang. Featuring numerous courts, including basketball, futsal, badminton, and football, the Sungai Kantan Youth Park is a sporty haven. The skatepark has plenty of ramps, rails, and curbs for you to try skating on once you’ve gotten bored of cruising on flat ground.

7. MSN Skatepark Penang
KL and Selangor aren’t the only places where you can find the best skateparks in Malaysia. Penang is another hotspot for the skater scene and MSN Skatepark is a prime example. Located in Gelugor, you can ride your BMX, rollerskates, scooter, and, of course, your skateboard at this pretty blue and orange-hued spot. Surrounded by greenery (hence the name), The Jungle is a beautiful contrast between concrete and nature, which makes for a soothing sight.
