Based on the enthralling 2006 graphic novel ‘American Born Chinese’ by the creative genius Gene Luen Yang, this series seamlessly blends his personal experiences growing up in the 1990s with captivating Chinese folklore.

Mini Reunions of Everything Everywhere All At Once

Wang’s Family in EEAAO

Everything Everywhere All At Once (EEAAO) has won big awards this year! And we couldn’t be more thrilled about the heartwarming reunion of Mr. and Mrs. Wang, portrayed by the talented Ke Huy Quan and Michelle Yeoh. Let’s not forget their equally delightful daughter, Joy Wang, brought to life by Stephanie Huan!

However, in this series, they do not portray a family unit. Quan takes on the role of Jamie Yao, a former actor renowned for his portrayal of the accident-prone Freddy Wong in the sitcom Beyond Repair. Huan shines as Shiji Niang Niang, also known as Princess Iron Fan, while Yeoh mesmerises as Guanyin, the goddess of Mercy.

We absolutely adore the subtle nods to the beloved Wang family lineage. And that’s just one of the many reasons why you simply must watch this captivating series!

Why You Should Watch

Trust us, this is a show that will whisk you away to a world of wonder and fill your heart with delightful nostalgia, especially if you’re an Asian child at heart.

Get ready for an adventure that will transport you back to the cherished moments of your childhood!

Let’s Dive In!

Join Jin Wang, a vibrant tenth-grader brilliantly portrayed by Ben Wang, as he embarks on an unforgettable journey of self-discovery and acceptance.

Jin (played by Ben Wang) and Wei-Chen (played by Jimmy Liu) in American Born Chinese

When Jin is given the exciting responsibility of showing new exchange student Wei-Chen, portrayed by the charismatic Jimmy Liu, around school, little does he know that he’ll be swept up in an epic clash between awe-inspiring mythical Chinese gods.

Little does he know, Wei-Chen is the son of Sun Wukong, who escaped from the heavens to follow his quest of finding the ‘Fourth Scroll,’ a prophecy revealed in his dreams – a true classic!

Along the way, we also get to meet some notable guests from the ‘Journey to the West’ characters, such as Ji Gong, Zhu Bajie (also known as the Pigsy), Jade Emperor, Ao Guang, and many more.

Sun Wukong a.k.a The Monkey King (Played by Daniel Wu) in American Born Chinese

Moreover, be prepared to be amazed as Sun Wukong, also known as ‘The Monkey King,’ portrayed by the talented (and dashing) Daniel Wu, and Guanyin, brought to life by our national treasure Dato’ Michelle Yeoh, ignite the screen with their larger-than-life performances.

As Jin’s world collides with ancient legends and mysticism, you’ll be on the edge of your seat, eagerly anticipating each twist and turn.
