Doesn’t this place just look so homey? We love the cosy vibes at Las Carretas, and it’s sure to transport you right to Mexico. Translating to ‘The Wagon’, this eatery serves up some of the best Mexican food in KL, and they’re known for their meat-based dishes, like their famous 28-days dry aged beef and their Roasted Australian Whole Lamb Leg served with Rosemary Sauce & Chimmi Churri. Start out your Mexican feast with a margarita (or two), and work your way down to dessert! We recommend their house specialty, Boca Chica. 2. La Boca

Look at that. What a thing of beauty. La Boca is a top-notch Latin American restaurant, bar, and lounge, and they even have live music. It’s a whole ‘come for the food, stay for the vibes’ situation at La Boca. We know that they don’t strictly serve Mexican food, but who can resist South American cuisine? It’s the perfect place to come with your friends and family as they offer tapas and plates to share, and even cocktails that come in jugs. It’ll be a whole fiesta! 3. Chica Bonita

If your FYP is anything like ours, then you’ll definitely have heard of Chica Bonita. Located in Publika, they serve some of the best Mexican food in KL, for sure. Dine inside, where the interior is exploding with gorgeous murals, or opt to eat alfresco, where you’ll have an excellent view of Publika’s main stage. Their servers are super friendly and helpful, so don’t be shy to ask them for recommendations. They even have vegetarian options, which is a huge plus in our books. To wash it all down, you should also definitely try out at least one cocktail or cocktail, they’re divine.

4. Loco Bar and Restaurant

The best thing to pair with good drinks? Good Mexican food! Although they’re best known for their array of alcohol and lively atmosphere as they are located in Changkat, after all, definitely don’t sleep on their food. They have a huge menu that will leave you almost dizzy at the amount of options, but there’s definitely something for everyone. Their tortillas are actually hand-pressed and everything is made fresh daily, and they use ingredients of the highest quality, so the food’s actually amazing. Plus, the servers are all incredibly friendly, and it makes the experience even better.

5. Nick’s Tikka & Tacos Restaurant

Indian and Mexican fusion food. Who would’ve thought that these two cuisines went together? Nick’s Tikka & Tacos Restaurant, that’s who, and it wasn’t a bad idea at all. The restaurant itself may not look like much, but the food. Oh my god, the food. It’s such a flavour explosion in your mouth, you’ll feel like Remy in that one scene in Ratatouille. It’s truly the best spot if you can’t decide between Indian food and Mexican food, just have the best of both worlds at Nick’s Tikka & Tacos Restaurant.

The name actually stands for ‘salvar a los animals’, which translates to save the animals. From nasi lemak and waffles to fajitas and burritos, they’ve got it all. They don’t compromise flavour and texture for integrity, and the love really shows in their food. Sala is located at Desa Sri Hartamas, and they definitely serve some of the best Mexican food in KL. Trust us, you won’t miss the meat.
