It’s the biggest island in Thailand and is full of all the glamour South East Asia has to offer. 2. Railay Beach
For a more relaxed experience, look no further than Railay Beach. This beach is situated on a tiny peninsula close to Krabi, and is surrounded by lush emerald green waters and majestic limestone cliffs. Krabi is one of the most mysterious places in Thailand, and there’s no other beach like it. The water is truly emerald green, and the sand is deep yellow. The beaches are encircled by huge limestone formations jutting out of the sea, dotted with patches of green and orange-coloured rock. It’s an enchanting scene that sets it apart from the rest of Thailand’s beaches. Access to the peninsula is only by boat, so it’s a very private slice of paradise. For a private paradise, Bamboo Island is a perfect spot. Uninhabited and located in the Phi Phi islands it’s a little over half a mile long. Since it’s a protected island, you don’t have to worry about any big resorts or hotels intruding on your peace of mind! You can spend the day lying on a white sand beach and take a dip in the crystal clear waters or go snorkelling. The island is surrounded by a bamboo grove underneath which you’ll find a small bar serving drinks and snacks.
5. Maya Bay
Known as the ‘Beach of the Beach’ after its famous appearance in the movie, Maya Bay, is a picturesque cove located on Phi Phi Leh island. Due to its popularity, the beach was closed in 2018 and reopened on January 1st, 2022, with strict restrictions on visitor numbers in order to protect the ecosystem from further damage caused by large numbers of tourists. Since then, new corals have started to appear in the waters around the bay, as well as blacktip reef shark sightings. This environmental recovery has led to the reopening of the beach on January 1st 2022. 6. Donald Duck Bay
The name Donald Duck Bay is derived from the shape of the rocky outcrops that overlook the bay. It is considered to be the pinnacle of a small chain of pristine beaches, known as the ‘Similans’, and is part of a National Park. The natural beauty of the area is well-preserved and well-preserved. There is a considerable amount of coral growth along the shoreline, making wading in the shallow waters of the bay a slow process. Snorkelling in the bay is an excellent activity.
