Sequestered on the island of South Malé Atoll, Anantara Dhigu Maldives, which is encircled by pristine lagoon waters, has unveiled the new look of its Over Water Villas.

After four months of renovation, the villas have undergone an extensive transformation in their interior decor and are now fitted with four new pools, offering the ultimate getaway for guests.

With a theme of “Sailboat Serenity,”  the interior of the Over Water Villas is aptly designed with inspiration taken from the Maldivian boat and its passage over the tranquil Maldivian waters.

Helmed by Stephen O’Dell from the award-winning architecture and interior design firm SODA, the concept is reflected in its setting, which harmoniously blends with the natural splendour of its surroundings.

Inside the 40-room Over Water Villa, they are furnished with a colour palette of warm neutrals with subtle accents of blue that evoke a relaxing  ambiance. The Sunrise and Sunset Over Water Villas are equipped with over water hammocks, adding a touch of playfulness to the space.

As part of the relaunch, Anantara Dhigu Maldives has introduced four brand-new Deluxe Sunset Over Water Pool Villas. The recent addition of a considerably expansive infinity pool to the newly upgraded Sunset Over Water Villas makes them highly coveted. These exclusive villas, which boast a spacious space of 129 square metres, have direct access to the crystalline lagoon waters.

Following the complete refurbishment, Anantara Dhigu Maldives has also announced a number of renovations this year, including the establishment of The Yellow Fin Club, an exclusive bar that takes guests on a gastronomic journey around the globe. Guests are spoiled for choice with the selection of culinary delights, from fresh seafood at Sea.Fire.Salt. to hearty Italian fare at Aqua and buffet-themed breakfast and dinner at Fushi Café.

On the nearby sister island, Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, Origami offers a modern twist to Japanese cuisine, while Cumin serves a medley of dishes inspired by Sri Lankan, Indian, and Maldives fare. Perched atop the edge of the lagoon and outer reef, Baan Huraa offers lip-smacking coconut curries from Thailand’s southern provinces and fiery dishes from the north. At Dhoni Bar, guests can tantalise their taste buds with Mediterranean tapas.

Beyond its dining experience, guests can opt to dine outside of the restaurants with Anantara’s signature Designer Dining by Anantara experience, which includes a private chef and sommelier. The highlight of the stay is the variety of fun-filled water- and land-based activities such as underwater discovery, surfing, and habitat preservation programmes.

The Anantara Dhigu Maldives has a slew of activities, including volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess, and pétanque, in addition to a fully equipped fitness centre. Guests who seek more leisurely activities can try their hands on the Spice Spoons by Anantara cooking class, a pampering session at the Anantara Spa, or lounge by the infinity pool.

Located 21 kilometres south of Velana International airport, Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort is only 30 minutes by speedboat, available 24 hours a day. For more information or to make a reservation, call +960 664 4100, email dhigumaldives@anantara.com or visit here.
