BLACKPINK’s Rosé must have sparked something in the air late last year when she teamed up with Bruno Mars for the mega-successful earworm APT. Now, in the first half of 2025, Korean superstars are making their comebacks one after another. Following the record-breaking success of her debut solo studio album, Rosie, released in December 2024, the first quarter of 2025 is set to be packed with fresh releases from our favourite K-pop stars. If you haven’t been keeping up, these are the upcoming K-pop albums of 2025 we’re most excited about.
Upcoming K-Pop Albums of 2025 We’re Most Excited For
Contents
1. Amortage, Jisoo
We’re bending the rules a little here. First, Amortage by BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is already out, having dropped on Valentine’s Day. Second, this isn’t her sophomore album but a four-track debut solo EP. But since we’ve mentioned — or are about to mention — all her BLACKPINK bandmates on this list, leaving Jisoo out just wouldn’t feel right.
Amortage blends amor, the Latin word for love, with montage, capturing the record’s exploration of love’s emotional stages and defining moments. Its lead single, Earthquake, sets the tone with an irresistible disco-pop groove we can’t stop replaying.
2. Übermensch, G-Dragon
That’s right — the King of K-pop himself, G-Dragon, is making his long-awaited return on February 25 with his third studio album, Übermensch. The German title might seem like an unusual choice, but its meaning makes things clearer. Translating to “superman,” it represents an ideal individual who rises above conventional morality and societal norms to forge their own values and purpose. How provocative.
With such a compelling concept, we can’t wait to dive into the six remaining tracks of Übermensch, following the already-released singles Home Sweet Home (featuring former BigBang bandmates Taeyang and Daesung) and Power. Plus, G-Dragon has also announced a world tour to support the album — here’s hoping Malaysia is on the list!
3. Alter Ego, LISA
Chances are, you’ve already grooved to Lisa’s string of recent hits — Rockstar, New Woman (featuring Rosalía), Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me), and her latest collaboration with Doja Cat and RAYE, Born Again. These four tracks are part of her highly anticipated 13-track album, Alter Ego, set for release on February 28. The album will also include collaborations with Future, Tyla, and Megan Thee Stallion.
Bringing a playful concept to the mix, Alter Ego sees Lisa embodying five distinct characters, each representing a different side of her personality. Her five “alter egos” (Roxi, Kiki, Vixi, Sunni, and Speedi) each take center stage on various tracks throughout the album. We feel her on this — after all, we contain multitudes too, and we can’t wait to dive into them all with Alter Ego.
4. Ruby, Jennie
BLACKPINK’s separate yet collective world domination in 2025 wouldn’t be complete without Jennie’s debut studio album, Ruby, set for release on March 7. Among all the BLACKPINK members, we have to give Jennie the crown for versatility — apparent in Ruby‘s star-studded collaborations with Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, FKJ, Dua Lipa, and Kali Uchis.
Still need convincing? Just listen to the three singles released from the 15-track album so far — the successful Mantra, Love Hangover, and newly-released ExtraL. With Jennie herself describing Ruby as a genre-blending project, we can’t wait to see (and hear) just how far her versatility goes.
5. HOT, LE SSERAFIM
They may be the newest act on this list, having debuted in 2022, but we’re just as hyped for LE SSERAFIM’s fifth extended play, HOT, dropping on March 14. Serving as the final chapter in their trilogy following the hit EPs EASY and CRAZY, the five-member group is ready to get us dancing once again.
Details on the project are still under wraps, but a promotion timeline is set, with the tracklist dropping on March 4 and the first music video premiering the following week alongside the album. If you’re ready to party, dial 1-800-hot-n-fun.
