The World Of Tim Burton exhibition, which visits South-East Asia for the first time, will open at Pavilion Bukit Jalil on March 21, 2023, and will run until July 30, 2023.
An international touring exhibition of the film director Tim Burton’s work is expected to visit Kuala Lumpur next year.
This exhibition, presented by Toybox Projects in partnership with collaborators Eurasian Entertainment Consultants Ltd and KOL Nation, and supported by venue partner Pavilion Bukit Jalil, focuses on the peculiar characters and surroundings that Burton’s creative vision can only create.
The exhibition, which opened in 2009 at New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMa), welcomes visitors on a trip through the director’s inner universe via 500 illustrations stretching back to his boyhood, images and models, and film footage.
While Burton was recognised exclusively for his achievements to film work, such as Beetlejuice (1988), Edward Scissorhands (1990), Corpse Bride (2005), and Sweeney Todd (2007), this upcoming exhibition in KL is designed to showcase him as a versatile artist whose creative vision transcends forms of media and formats.
The World Of Tim Burton
For the new audiences to witness Burton’s personal work in person for the first time. It presents familiar attendees with a deep insight into artistic perspective through around 540 works, including iconic pieces from the Tim Burton retrospective and over 150 exclusive new works not featured in the MoMA exhibition tour.
To increase audience experience, The World of Tim Burton has divided the filmmaker’s five-decade career into ten themed sections. Each section describes his paintings, sketches, photography, feature films, digital art, sculptures, and other works.
The World of Tim Burton exhibition tickets will be accessible for purchase on KOL Nation and TicketCharge from January 11, 2023, and at the event location starting from March 21, 2023.
