Take a journey into the legendary mythology of Nyi Roro Kidul with the theatrical performance Teater Samaya: Puteri Laut Selatan, spanning exclusively across three days from December 27 to 29, 2024.

Featuring a stellar cast, the production sees Nadia Brian returning in the lead role of Putri Samaya, alongside Khenobu, a renowned actor known for his performance in Kahar: Kapla High Council. The ensemble also includes Zairi Aziz, Aidilla Shaffi, Yusur Amin, Rayna Hezza, Daniel Emirrul, and Dinie Hisam.

Teater Samaya: Puteri Laut Selatan takes audiences into the legend of Nyi Roro Kidul, Queen of the Southern Sea, and her seven daughters. The story centres on the forbidden love of Gusti Putri Samaya Roro Kanjeng, the youngest princess, who defies her mother’s wishes by marrying a mortal man.

Disguised as Suri, she begins a new life only to face tragedy when her husband is murdered years later. Tensions rise as her son, Bima, falls in love with Laila, the daughter of her late husband’s brother, sparking conflict over suspicions surrounding the inheritance of the silat school.

Her quest to uncover the truth behind her husband’s death leads her back to the Southern Sea, where she is summoned by the Queen to return as a daughter of the sea and fulfil her royal duties.

Audiences can look forward to a captivating theatrical performance showcasing traditional Javanese dance and music alongside Malay silat combat.

Teater Samaya: Puteri Laut Selatan will be held at the Auditorium Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, with entry fees priced at RM20 and RM50.
