teamLab, an international art collective, will showcase their open-air exhibition, Resonating Microcosms at LaLaport this upcoming August.
The Central Rooftop Garden will be transformed with ovoids or oval sculptures that interactively shine and resonate, delivering visitors with a one-of-a-kind experience.
The ovoids feature stimuli that respond to their surroundings, emitting sound tone and changing colour. What’s more, the ovoids can morph into 57 newly defined Liquified Light Colours.
According to teamLab,” The ovoids in the garden begin to shine by themselves as the sun sets. When an ovoid is pushed by a person, blown by the wind, or hit by rain, it shines brightly and emits a sound tone as it rises back up on its own.”
“The ovoids around it respond one after another, producing the same sound tone and light colour that continues to spread out. The surrounding Resonating Trees also respond and change continuously,” they added.
Founded in 2001, teamLab comprises a group of artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians and architects. They have hosted exhibitions all around the world including in New York, Singapore, London and Paris.
