If you’ve got a furbaby, chances are you have a tender spot for animals (we are definitely big fans!). Your photo roll is probably full of animals, and your TikTok FYP definitely has recurring cute pet videos that make you absolutely melt. We get it—you’re a big animal lover. So, how do you spend your leisure time? At Glitz, you’d find us cooing at all the cute animals at the best pet cafes in KL, which is definitely time well spent!

Pet cafes are dining establishments where you can interact with animals that live at the cafe, usually cats or dogs, while enjoying a meal and a cup of coffee. The aim of these eateries is to create settings where you can appreciate the presence and companionship of these furry hosts!

Now that we’re all excited, let’s look at some of the best pet cafes in KL!

Cat and Dog Cafes in Kuala Lumpur

1. Purradise Cat Café

With over 15 cats roaming freely, this cafe is undoubtedly a cat lover’s paradise. Unlike most cat cafés that feature purebred felines, Purradise only has resident rescue cats. Fees are calculated based on the time spent at the cafe, with longer visits costing more. Although it may seem more expensive than other cat cafes, the proceeds help rescue additional stray cats from the streets. This aligns with their mission to encourage cat adoption and provide a space where rescue cats can acclimate to people before being adopted. The entrance fee includes a choice of homemade juice, smoothie, tea, or coffee.

Coo&Riku is one of the latest cat cafes around town, and definitely one of the coolest. Who knows, maybe you’ll leave with another sibling for your cat, as Coo&Riku also sells pedigree kitties.

Cubs and Cups is a Korean-owned dog cafe, and is home to a few canines, including huskies, pugs, and Pomeranians. We’re in love with this cafe’s greatest draw, which is without a doubt the dogs! Pet owners are encouraged to bring their doggos to the café so they may eat some comfort food and play with other animals. This café offers a huge selection of food, including all-day brunch and Korean food! We’re itching to make a return just from remembering how good the food here tastes.

After a filling meal at their restaurant, head on over to the attached cat studio, where it’s only RM25 per entry, and you get to spend an hour playing with more friendly cats than we can count.

PoppyKat Cafe is one of the trendiest cat cafes – they’ve got great food, a contemporary interior, and the sweetest cats that you can hang out with. It’s a neighbourhood joint in Cheras, and they serve amazing coffee, and they’re famous for their huge selection of croffles that we are particularly partial to here at Glitz. Their tagline ‘come for the coffee, stay for the cats’ definitely rings true, and Cheras locals can definitely vouch for them.

With one of the most interesting concepts we’ve ever seen, Swim Paradise Park and Cafe literally lets you swim with dogs and have a good meal afterward. You can bring your doggos for a splash at their saltwater pool (totally safe for dogs, of course), and they also provide dog floaties, and an area for them to shower and dry off. After they have the time of their lives in the pool, your dog is entitled to dog-friendly sushi treats! Humans who don’t want to have a splash can lounge around by the pool and enjoy a steaming cup of coffee.
