It may not seem like it, but there are quite a few nature retreats right here in Klang Valley and Kuala Lumpur! Although you don’t see much greenery while driving through Kuala Lumpur, there are several nature retreats hidden. You just need to know where to look! Just drive down to Sekinchan and you’ll find a modern farmstay painted in every shade of the rainbow! Unlike other nature retreats, Tanah Larwina is a one-of-a-kind glasshouse built by a “weekend farmer” as a passion project. Groups of 6 to 8 will be happy to enjoy this 3 bedroom rainforest Villa. This nature retreat is only an hour away from KL and located in the heart of a rainforest. Lose yourself in the beauty of nature and take a dip in the crystal clear river located right next to Villa Ijo. There are also several forest walking trails nearby. 7. Karuna Hill

Durian lovers are in for a treat at Karuna Hill located all the way in Penang. Sitting at the top of a hill, this nature retreat offers a 360-degree lush view of the jungle, all the way to the Straits of Malacca. Besides that, your lovely host Carl, will be delighted to show guests around his durian orchard. It is most likely that he will also share with you his extensive knowledge of durian! We would definitely suggest you plan a trip during the durian season – May to July as you’ll also be able to enjoy durian tastings! Although it is almost 5 hours away, the experience is definitely worth it.

8. Spyder Hill

Spyder Hill is best known for its waterfalls and beautiful nature. Located at the edge of Berembun Forest Reserve, there are plenty for you to do during this getaway. 9. The Sticks KKB

Who wants to go camping when you can go glamping? Only just 75 minutes away from KL, that is what you’ll get at The Sticks KKB. Completely off the grid, this nature retreat is tucked away in the rainforest. In order to get to The Sticks KKB, you even have to cross a suspension bridge or take a 4WD. But once you get there, you can go swimming in the stream, or go on a jungle trek. If you’re not one for the outdoors, just chillax in your tent with a book or board games.
