Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has announced that Malaysian citizens returning to the country will no longer need to fill in the traveller’s pass feature on the MySejahtera application effective the 4th of July.
The announcement was made to ease the travelling procedures as the current public health condition is at a satisfactory level.
However, foreigners inbound to Malaysia are still required to fill in the MySejahtera traveller’s pass feature before entering the country as it allows the Healthy Ministry to monitor Covid-19 and other infectious disease outbreaks like monkey pox.
It was reported that the government will abolish the traveller’s pass feature in stages for other groups including social pass holders, permanent residents and student passes.
The traveller’s pass on MySejahtera application was initially introduced on 8th October 2022 for travellers entering and exiting the Malaysia border.
