The iconic Irish whiskey brand Jameson has launched Distilled Sounds, a new global music program that brings together artists from around the world to create and perform new music. Multi-Grammy award-winner Anderson .Paak leads the initiative as Jameson’s first Music Distiller, fostering collaboration and innovation among musicians.
The American singer and rapper shared his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “I have partnered with Jameson Distilled Sounds because it’s giving artists what I would’ve wanted and needed when I first came onto the scene – connection to other artists. Distilled Sounds allow artists to have no boundaries. When individuals with diverse skills and backgrounds come together, it leads to the exchange of unique perspectives and ideas in music. Collaboration enables us to produce the unexpected – that is what we are aiming to do at the Sound Distillery in Ireland this August, and I am gassed to be involved.”
To celebrate the launch of the program, Jameson released a four-minute comedy short starring Anderson .Paak in dual roles. Directed by Glenn Kitson, the film transforms Los Angeles’ 64 Sound Studio into the JJ Smoove 178.0 radio station, where DJ Pee .Wee (played by .Paak) interviews himself about his new partnership with Jameson. Distilled Sounds by Jameson
Our very own musician Claudia Tan has been selected as the first Malaysian artist to join the Sound Distillery program in Ireland this month. She will collaborate with Anderson .Paak and Australian singer-songwriter KAIIT to produce and perform original music. Needless to say, the Kuching-born singer, known for her viral TikTok hit Bodies, is excited to bring her considerable talents to this global stage.
Sharing her excitement to be involved in this program, Tan gushed, “I’m incredibly honored to be the first Malaysian artist to take part in this program, and am excited to be mentored by one of the greatest creatives in the music industry. Anderson .Paak is a music visionary, and I can’t wait to learn all I can during my sessions with him so that I can refine my own craft and be the best artist I can possibly be.”
