Their self-photo studio concept for 2023 is floral, and they’ve got the cutest interior that you can move around to serve as the cutest background for all the amazing photos you’re going to take at Wake & Shoot. 2. Ohneul Studio
If you’ve heard of there being a self-photo studio in MyTown, Ohneul is it! They also a branch at Wangsa Walk, as well as an upcoming one at Sunway Pyramid. They’re actually Malaysia’s first self-photo studio, and they brought the concept of self-photo studios and photo booths all the way from South Korea. They have several rooms that are like large photo booths, and you can edit and doodle on your photos to personalise it to you! You can even take ID photos here, and you’ll get a soft copy of the photos through a QR code.

3. MEERS Studio
Located in 3 Towers at Jalan Ampang, Meers Studio is a super cute self-photo studio where you can choose between taking photos against a coloured backdrop, mini photo booth style photos, or peek behind curtains. There’s even an allocated private changing room if you want to change up your style between photos. It’s a great space to take graduation photos, family photos, or if you just want to take cute photos to commemorate your date. You can also save soft copies of the photos so you can post them on Instagram without sacrificing the photo quality.

4. One Sight
A pet-friendly self-photo studio? Sign us up! One Sight in SS2, Petaling Jaya lets you bring your fur babies so you can take as many portraits of them as you want. But, be sure to bring their diapers as we don’t want to leave any puddles. Their basic shooting package starts at RM59 for 30 minutes, which includes five soft copies and one hardcopy of the photos. You can bring in as many people as you want into their photo booths, and there are different backdrops and props that you can choose from and play with!

5. Photopia
A self-photo studio with high quality lighting and setting, Photopia is a wonderful place to capture memories. It’s located at 163 Retail Park in Mont Kiara, and it’s open daily from 10AM to 8PM. The setup is super professional, there’s a remote so you can take as many pictures as you want for 20 minutes (candid or not!), and there’s a screen right in the studio so you can check the photos as you’re taking the shots. You can even change the background so you don’t have to choose just one. The standard package lets you take unlimited pictures for 20 minutes, after which you have 10 minutes to choose your photos, and you can print out one 4R photo and one 4R collage photo, as well as five digital copies.

6. Cupcat Images
Cupcat Images wins our award for most interesting concept – this self-photo studio has 20 different themes! It costs RM70 per hour, and you can play around with the props. They even have holiday themed rooms like Christmas and Halloween rooms. It’s a super popular spot among cosplayers, a great space to take your engagement or maternity pictures. The spaces are so interesting, it’s bound to be a fun activity for you and your friends. The themes are also regularly updated, so be sure to follow their social media pages to be in the know.

7. Suafoto Studio
If you want a quick and easy self-photo studio to take cute pictures, head over to Suafoto Studio in Wangsa Maju, where you can take unlimited pictures and print them out. For a single session, two people can head into the studio and take as many photos as you want for 15 minutes, after which you’ll have ten minutes to select two photos to be printed out. For larger groups, you can opt to book a double session, which can accommodate up to four people for 45 minutes, and you can bring home four printed photos. You can also have an additional 150 digital photos for an added cost of RM30, but with their professional setting, your photos are going to look so good, you’re definitely going to want to pay that RM30.

8. Sotplugs Studio
No, this isn’t a still out of Hogwarts Legacy, but it is one of the themes at Sotplugs Studio, where you can actually pretend to be at Hogwarts. This particular room shown is The Chapel, and you can even change the colour of the LED light to fit your feed’s theme (OG Instagram users, you’ll know what I’m talking about). Sotplugs Studio was actually specifically designed for cosplayers to take photos and still remains to this day a highly sought-after location amongst cosplayers, but you can take photos without costumes too. Their rooms are so intricately furnished, you’ll believe you’ve been transported to another world. Our favourite themes at this self-photo studio include the Idol Stage, the Matrix Room, and the Zen Garden.
