Don’t Worry Darling, psychological thriller film directed by Olivia Wilde will premiere on HBO GO this 27th November.
The film stars Florence Pugh , Harry Styles, Olivia Wilde , Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne , Chris Pine, Nick Kroll, Sydney Chandler , Kate Berlant , Asif Ali, Douglas Smith, Timothy Simons and Ari’el Stachel. The screenplay penned by Katie Silberman is based on a story by Carey Van Dyke, Shane Van Dyke and Silberman.
Its story centres on husband and wife, Alice (Pugh) and Jack (Styles) who live in Victory, the idyllic community that is occupied by the men who work for the top-secret Victory Project. The societal optimism of the 1950s, as espoused by their CEO, Frank (Pine) anchors every aspect of daily life in the tight-knit desert utopia.
While the husbands work on the “development of progressive materials” at the Victory Project Headquarters, their wives get to spend their time enjoying the beauty, luxury and debauchery of the neighborhood. As all of their needs are met by the organisation, the residents’ unwavering dedication is all they ask in exchange.
However, when disparities in their picture-perfect existence begin to emerge, it reveals something that is much more sinister beneath the attractive façade. Alice can’t help questioning exactly what they’re doing in Victory. How much is Alice willing to sacrifice in order to reveal the truth about this paradise?
