Here at Glitz, we pride ourselves on being fashion-forward, so we can’t help but notice the drastic evolution of maternity style in recent years. Fashionable celebrities like Rihanna are at the forefront, redefining how pregnant women dress in the early 2020s. Gone are the days of oversized, shapeless garments — today’s maternity fashion embraces bold, chic, and form-fitting clothes.
Sure, today’s maternity fashion may not always prioritise comfort, but we believe comfort should be reserved for the elderly anyway. After all, who decided that expecting mothers have to dress like a sack of potatoes for nine months? Here are three quick tips on how to slay even when pregnant, as seen on these famous new and soon-to-be mamas.

Tip One: Use Your Baby Bump as an Accessory

The number one rule of celebrity maternity style? Never hide your baby bump. To be honest, we’re unsure whether this trend was started to defy norms or from the practicality of a pregnant woman’s clothes inevitably becoming more ill-fitting over time. Maybe it was a blend of both? But whatever the reason, we’re definitely here for it!
Hailey Rhode Bieber, the founder of beauty brand Rhode and wife to popstar Justin Bieber, announced earlier this month that she was expecting their first child. Since then, her Instagram posts (and her doting husband’s) have been a masterclass in how to look stylish when pregnant and how to switch it up. From a bright and summery look in a Blumarine Butterfly Top and low-slung jeans to an edgier, all Alexander Wang outfit perfect for fall and winter, Bieber’s baby bump is always front and centre.
Disney alum Ashley Tisdale is currently expecting her second child, a future brother or sister to Tisdale’s adorable daughter and firstborn, Jupiter. We love the High School Musical star’s effortlessly cool beach outfits, proving once and for all that there’s no such thing as getting “beach body ready.” If a pregnant lady wants to don a bikini and hit up the beach, then she’ll do just that, with her baby bump proudly on display — as she should!
Tip Two: Ugly Maternity Shoes?? We Don’t Know Her
During pregnancy, a woman’s feet will swell up and become tender as the weight gain adds pressure to her knees and ankles. Although wearing comfortable shoes like sneakers, flats, and clogs would be the best course of action during this time, where’s the fun in that? Leaving the house in heels every now and then serves as a balm to the soul, even if it isn’t to the pregnant body.
Barbadian mogul Rihanna was last pregnant in August 2023, but excluding her unparalleled contributions to today’s celebrity maternity style would be a crime. Just look at her casually slaying in Amina Muaddi’s Jahleel Booties in White Nappa leather and a hilarious Use a Condom Oversized Graphic Tee from her clothing line, Savage X Fenty. If you can’t quite manage stilettos while heavily pregnant, like Rihanna, opt for lower heels, like Vanessa Hudgens. The Disney star, who is expecting her first child, wore a pair of chic Selina Kitten Heel Slingback Pumps in Metallic Silver from AllSaints. Classy and easy on the ankles!
Tip Three: The Tighter, The Better
Celebrities clearly hate the unspoken rule that, whilst pregnant, you’re expected to wear the biggest and baggiest clothes you can find. Loose fabrics are more comfortable for both the baby and the mama, but we’ve already made our stance on comfort quite clear. We wouldn’t be surprised if expecting celebrities don their baggy finery when in the privacy of their own homes, but whilst out in public? They’re serving nothing but curvy-silhouetted goodness.
Based on her Instagram, Vanessa Hudgens’ maternity wardrobe primarily features pieces from Bumpsuit, a celebrity-favourite maternity brand. The actress and singer shared an adorable snap of herself in The Cindy Bumpsuit in Mocha. Hudgens also wore Bumpsuit’s form-fitting Off The Shoulder Evening Dress in Chocolate for a date night with her husband. Speaking of significant others, Justin Bieber shared the photo above of his wife cradling her baby bump, encased in a semi-transparent Long-Sleeve Jersey from BITE Studios. These soon-to-be mamas and their tightly wrapped future firstborns could not be any cuter!
