BIRKENSTOCK Malaysia has reopened its 1 Utama store with a brand-new retail concept, the first of its kind in the country. The updated space brings the brand’s heritage and craftsmanship to the forefront through natural materials and carefully considered design elements.
Central to the new concept is BIRKENSTOCK’s iconic Footbed, the core of every pair the brand creates. The store’s design echoes this philosophy, using genuine, sustainable materials like cork, leather, and wood throughout the interior to express BIRKENSTOCK’s enduring focus on quality, comfort, and environmental responsibility.
A Fresh Chapter for BIRKENSTOCK at 1 Utama
A standout feature of the store is the Brand Timeline displayed on the central pillar. It highlights more than 250 years of BIRKENSTOCK’s heritage and evolution, presenting the key milestones that shaped the brand. It also reflects Birkenstock’s long-standing commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and innovation.
Created by BIRKENSTOCK’s in-house retail design team, the new concept represents an evolution of the previous design direction after five years. The updated space highlights the brand’s core values of craftsmanship, natural materials, and its world-renowned Footbed, while honouring more than 250 years of shoemaking heritage.

To celebrate the reopening, the store introduced interactive activities that showcased BIRKENSTOCK’s focus on self-expression and craftsmanship. Guests experienced live portrait painting inspired by their own BIRKENSTOCK style. The personalisation station also allowed them to customise their sandals. The result was a pair that expressed individuality, in line with the brand’s belief that comfort and style are personal.
