It’s no secret that going to malls is every Malaysian’s favourite pastime. Of course, our main reason for that is to escape the awfully hot and humid weather. But some of us patron malls to get essentials and sometimes to check out the festive decorations. If you’re on the lookout for some breathtaking Hari Raya decorations, here are some of the best malls to visit.

1. Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

For the first time, Pavilion KL is partnering with the Embassy of Iran to present ‘Eid In Harmony,’. This is an international, cross-cultural display that honours both Malaysian and Iranian ancestry, culture, and traditions until 16 May.

Pavilion KL is also happy to collaborate with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, Kraftangan Malaysia, and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) to showcase Malaysia’s exquisite handicrafts, arts, and culture at the ‘Eid In Harmony’ Marketplace, promoting Malaysia’s indigenous craftsmanship. Raya gifts and souvenirs can be purchased from a selection of Malaysian and Iranian handicraft on sale at the Centre Court for a unique shopping experience. There are also other immersive activities for customers to enjoy, including the first live Persian carpet weaving demonstrations in Malaysia, enamelling on copper crafts workshops, and musical and dance performances from both cultures.

When you shop this holiday season, you’ll be rewarded! Shoppers will receive customised Raya packets inspired by Iranian and Malaysian architectural motifs with a minimum spend of RM150 (or RM100 with Maybank Credit or Charge Cards). 2. Intermark Mall

This Hari Raya, enjoy a cultural feast at Intermark Mall with ‘Meriah Raya,’ which is inspired by traditional Malaysian art and activities such as Wayang Kulit, Batu Seremban, Congkak, and more. From now until May 8, enjoy the festive décor, which embodies the fun and carefree atmosphere of memorable childhood games, as well as exhibitions and performances.

Intermark Mall is happy to partner with Karyaneka, a Kraftangan Malaysia subsidiary, and Wak Long Music & Art Centre to bring shadow play, cultural activities, and traditional artforms to life through interactive workshops. Shoppers can get all of their favourite delicacies in time for the Raya celebrations, including festive goodies, hampers, exotic dates, and chocolates. Visit the Meriah Raya Pop-Up, Ground Atrium from 8 April to 8 May to find the perfect Raya costume or homemade Raya gift for family and friends. Browse the many handicrafts by Kraftangan Malaysia and Wak Long, as well as exquisite headscarves and Baju Raya from Bacarat for the festive season. From now to May 31, Da Men USJ welcomes shoppers to make everlasting joyful memories with ‘Bestnya Raya!’. Featuring iconic furnishings, current batik clothes, and signature Raya dishes, Da Men USJ will take consumers to the urban ’90s. You can find traditional bamboo pelita, ketupat, and a slew of ’90s vintage accessories and technology around bamboo lighting and characteristic hardwood furniture!

On the ground floor, check out the INTI College Batik Clothing Showcase and Cynta Exclusive, a body-positive fashion business that showcases Malaysia’s rich artistic legacy via gorgeous batik fashion pieces. Shoppers may watch live demonstrations of Malaysia’s rich art and culture, such as Anyaman Tikar Mengkuang (woven mats), batik painting, wood carving, and henna art, in addition to the interactive workshops.

Visitors can relax and enjoy festive performances at the Atrium, Ground Floor, after a day of shopping and enjoyable activities. Save the date for Da Men USJ’s Bestnya Concert on April 24th at 2pm, where you can rock out to the songs of ’90s rock titans Man Bai, Along Exists, and Mohar Mohram.

The P. Ramlee Gallery on Level 2 presents the P. Ramlee dan Saloma Exhibition – Aku, Dia dan Lagu as a tribute to Tan Sri P. Ramlee and Puan Sri Saloma. Fans will be able to see clips from their films, peruse vintage movie posters, and take in a rare display of personal relics from the two legends, including apparel worn in their films and performances!
