Super famous, but honestly, we think it’s worth the hype. Located in Subang Square Shopping Mall is home to the Char Siew Fried Rice prepared by the owners, Uncle Soon or Aunty Soon, that locals and students on a budget can’t get enough of. The fried rice is oozing with flavour, topped off with your meat of choice, then cooked to perfection with that wok hei we all look for in a good fried rice. So simple but so delicious and comforting, it’s the perfect balance of umami flavours we need after a long day.

Anybody would answer Jibril when asked about the best food SS15, and their Salted Egg Buttermilk Chicken is a crowd-favourite that we can’t get enough of ourselves, too. Aside from chicken, they also serve deep-fried dishes coated in their signature salted egg sauce that comes with buttermilk to go with your rice. They’ve also expanded their menu to include hot chilli clams, salted egg butter lobster, and many more dishes other than butter chicken! If you haven’t been to Jibril before, you’re in for a surprise because the restaurant is hidden behind inconspicuous doors, and the interior of the restaurant looks and feels like a speakeasy.
