One of the most extravagant galas of the year was held just last Monday and it’s been the talk of the town since. Celebrities showed up in over the top gowns and stunning silhouettes, fitting with the theme of ‘Gilded Glamour’. And while the spotlight was on many American celebrities, many of our favourite Asian celebrities walked the red carpet too. From the stars of Crazy Rich Asians to models, fashion designers, and even athletes, they all slayed! Here are some of our favourite Asian celebrities on the red carpet at Met Gala 2022.

We’re starting this list with Chloe Kim, a two-time Olympic gold medalist who is attending her first-ever Met Gala. Chloe stepped out in a beautiful Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown with bright red feathers. Her makeup look was equally stunning and matched the dress so perfectly. If there are any Asian celebrities on the red carpet at Met Gala 2022 we loved watching, it’s Chloe!
2. Gemma Chan
The Crazy Rich Asian star walked the red carpet in a gorgeous Louis Vuitton dress. The dress featured a pop-out silhouette at the hips and ending just above the ankles. So, while every other celebrity was out with trailing gowns, Gemma kept it unique and in her style.
3. Simone Ashley
If there’s one Asian celebrity everyone is talking about lately, it has got to be Simone Ashley. The Bridgerton actress came in a lovely Moschino outfit and a vintage sleeked hair. Truly, she was one of the few Asian celebrities on the red carpet at Met Gala 2022 whose look we absolutely loved.
4. HoYeon Jung
Despite the fact that HoYeon was pretty far away from the theme, the Squid Game star looked more amazing than ever. HoYeon rocked a Louis Vuitton petite dress and knee-high boots. She definitely showed just what Asian celebrities on the red carpet at Met Gala 2022 can do.
5. Michelle Yeoh
There’s only one word to describe Michelle Yeoh’s outfit at the Met Gala: STUNNING! The veteran walked the red carpet in a custom lily pad green Prabal Gurung gown. Michelle even paired the gown with a chunky necklace and matching accessories.
6. Henry Golding and Liv Lo Golding
Henry Golding and Liv Lo Golding are probably the most anticipated Asian celebrities on the red carpet at Met Gala 2022. The new parents looked absolutely stunning in their Tom Ford outfits, matching each other from head to toe. Silver accents all throughout the outfits had them shining under the spotlight.
7. Conan Gray
Born half-Japanese, Conan Gray showed just how gorgeous Asian celebrities on the red carpet at Met Gala 2022 can be. Conan wore a white and silver Valentino outfit, alongside a see-through cape. He also paired some matching accessories and hair embellishments to complete the look.
8. Awkwafina
Awkwafina is never one to shy away from bright colours when it comes to red carpet looks. Therefore, she’s really one of the most anticipated Asian celebrities on the red carpet at Met Gala 2022. And she didn’t disappoint! Awkwafina came out in a pink-red ombre Gucci gown, with a studded star and shoulder detail.
9. Mindy Kaling
Next on our list of Asian celebrities on the red carpet at Met Gala 2022 is none other than Mindy Kaling. The Office star wore a beautiful lilac gown by Prabal Gurung, with flower details on each shoulder. The flowy gown also gave Mindy an overall princess vibe and we’re living for it!

We’re obsessed with the new Gossip Girl series. But we’re even more obsessed with Evan Mock’s Met Gala look. The actor and model was seen sporting vintage Cartier in a custom corset suit by fashion label Head of State. He even added on a matching necklace and rings that really gave the outfit an edge.
11. Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia Rodrigo was born to a Filipino-American father and rose to fame just last year. At her second Met Gala, Olivia walked the red carpet in a stunning lavender mesh dress by Versace. She was dreamy, beautiful and one of the few Asian celebrities on the red carpet at Met Gala 2022 that we love, love, love!
12. Eileen Gu
Another Olympic gold medalist to grace the Met Gala red carpet was Eileen Gu, who came out in an edgy Louis Vuitton leather dress. The American born Chinese athlete also wore knee-high heels and chunky black cuffs that complimented the overall outfit.
13. Eva Chen
You may not be very familiar with who Eva Chen is – as she doesn’t star in big blockbuster films. However, the director of fashion partnerships at Instagram has made a name of her own. As one of the few Asian celebrities on the red carpet at Met Gala 2022, Eva donned a gorgeous gown by Peter Do.
14. Riz Ahmed
The British-Pakistani actor walked the Met Gala red carpet in a simple yet stunning fit by Prada. The navy blue outfit was accompanied by boots that were just below the knee and a long silver necklace. But it was the oversized jacket that we think looked really good on Riz.
